Nicolas was mayor of Schifflange. Nicolas and Annie Catherine Tandel were married in Diekirch and lived in the Steichen house in Schifflange. The Tandel family goes back well into the 15th century in Luxembourg. Source: Joseph Steichen Luxembourg. 9 of the 15 children died in youth.
