On Saturday, Jan 24 occurred the death of Andrew Gilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Gilson. Although the little fellow had never been a very strong child, his sudden death after only a week illness was an event so unlooked for, that it proved a shock to all who knew him. On Sunday before last he was still seen in the ranks of his school fellows as they attended service at St. Rose's church and the following Sunday one bright little face was missed from those ranks and one little place was left vacant -- Andrew was dead. Andrew was the youngest child of the Gilson's, a bright sunny little fellow, who made friends wherever he went. He was born at port Washington in the year 1904. About three years ago his parents moved to Fredonia where they have since resided. Andrew attended the St. Rose of Lima school where his presence will ever be missed. The funeral was held from the home of his bereaved parents to St. Rose's church, with interment at St. Rose's cemetery, Rev. P.K. Flasch officiating.
