Mrs. Alice Steffen, 54 of the village of Fredonia, dropped dead of a heart attack about noon Sunday, Jan 1, at the Fredonia home where she lived with her sister, Miss Margaret Gilson. Mrs Steffen, nee Gilson, was born in Luxembourg on Mar 29, 1901,
and in 1920 was married at Fredonia to Lawrence Steffen. They settled at Fredonia where he was employed at the Gilson Foundry. he died about 13 years ago.
She is survived by three son. Philip of Port Washington, Robert of Fredonia and John Steffen of Dacada; also nine grandchildren, two brothers, Mike and John Gilson, both of Fredonia; three sisters, Mrs Anne Duprel; Mrs Al (Josephine) Untereiner both
of South Dakota, and Miss Margaret Gilson of Fredonia.
Funeral services were held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan 4. from the Poole Funeral home, Port Washington to St. Rose of Lima Catholic church at Fredonia where Father Robert Weis (not sure about spelling of priest surname) officiated at the requiem
mass at 10 O'clock. Interment was made at the parish cemetery.
