Rites For Miss Gilson, Will Be Held On Friday.
Miss Margaret Gilson, 60 of the village of Fredonia died unexpeciedly about Wednesday noon at Wood, Wis. Miss Gilson was born at Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg on July 7, 1898, and later came to this country with her brothers who established the Gilson Bros foundry at Fredonia. She served as a WAC during World War II. Survivors are two brothers, Mike and John Gilson , both of Fredonia: two sisters, Mrs Andrew (Anna) Duprel of Strugis, South Daktoa, and Mrs. Al (Josephine) Untereiner of Dimock, South Dakota: also neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs Philip Gilson: one brother, Andrew: one sister, Alice, and an infant sister. She was a member of the auxiliary of Warren Kane American Legion post, and the Ladies Sodlity of St. Rose of Lima Catholic church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, at St. Rose of Lima church. Father Robert Bier officiating at the requiem mass. Ozaukee Press, Thursday July 24, 1958 Fredonia - Miss Margaret Gilson passed away July 22nd at 11:55 a.m. at Woods Veteran Hospital where she had been confined for the past week. Deah followed a lingering illness. She was born July 7, 1897 at Colmarberg, Luxembourg and came to this country at the age of 3. Miss Gilson was 60 years of age at the time of her death and had resided in Fredonia most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Gilson who preceded her in death. A brother, Andrew, and a sister, Alice (Mrs. Lawrence Steffen) and an infant sister also preceded her in death. Miss Gilson was very active in both civic and religious activities in her community and had served with the WACS during World War II. She was a member of the Warren Kane Post Legion Auxiliary of Fredonia unit and a member of the Ladies Sodality of St. Rose of Lima church. Survivors include two brothers: John and Mike of Fredonia; two sisters, Mrs. Al (Josephine) Untereiner of Dimock, SD, and Mrs. Andrew (Anna) Duprel of Sturgis, SD, nieces and nephews. The Ladies Sodality of St. Rose of Lima will hold a vigil Thursday, July 24th, at 8:30 p.m. at the Horn Funeral Home where the body is in state. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 25th, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Robert Bier officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
